SAINT LUCIA · CARIBBEAN
Volcanic peaks, rainforest waterfalls, turquoise bays.
Catamaran days under the Pitons, mud baths at the drive-in volcano, waterfalls in the rainforest and slow afternoons on the sand. From Soufrière in the south to Rodney Bay in the north.
Only in Saint Lucia
Three things you can only do here.
Catamaran days and snorkel stops exist on every Caribbean island. These three do not. Two volcanic peaks rising from the water, a volcano you can drive into, and the warm green sea at their feet. Plan the rest of the trip around them.
From the water
Sailing Under the Pitons
Gros Piton and Petit Piton drop seven hundred metres straight into the Caribbean, and the only way to stand beneath them is from a deck. Catamarans run the west coast out of Rodney Bay, anchor off Sugar Beach in the gap between the two peaks, and let you snorkel the reef in their shadow. No other island has this skyline.

Into the crater
The Drive-In Volcano
Sulphur Springs is the only volcano in the Caribbean you can drive into. Steam vents and bubbling grey pools sit in a collapsed crater above Soufrière, and just downhill the warm sulphur mud baths are open to anyone willing to climb in and come out a shade greyer. The ground still rumbles.

Climbing the Pitons
Gros Piton is a UNESCO World Heritage climb that pays you back with the whole south coast from the summit. Short on time? The Tet Paul Nature Trail lines both peaks up in a single frame after twenty easy minutes. Either way you are standing on a volcanic spire the rest of the world does not have.

The whole island in a day
Start with the day that does it all.
If you only book one thing, make it this. The full-island loop most travellers build the rest of their trip around.
The classics
Saint Lucia's Most Popular Tours
The Pitons, Sulphur Springs, the rainforest and the catamaran run down to Soufrière. The days most travellers come to Saint Lucia for.
By region
Pick your corner of the island.
Soufrière for the Pitons and the volcano. Rodney Bay for the sand and the restaurants. Gros Islet for the Friday-night street party. Castries for the market and the cruise pier.
By experience
Or pick the kind of day you're after.
A catamaran for the Pitons from the water. The volcano for the crater and the mud. A rainforest hike for the waterfalls, an ATV for the trails, a sunset sail for the last of the light.
Into the green
The rainforest days.
Diamond Falls, the Toraille drop, the aerial tram and the zip lines strung through the canopy. If we had to send you inland for one day, it would be on one of these three.
Off the main road
When you want the mud and the throttle.
ATV trails up through the hills, horseback rides along the sand, a bamboo raft down the Roseau River. Our three favourites for a day that does not sit still.
Cocoa and cane
Taste your way around the island.
Tree-to-bar chocolate on a working cocoa estate, rum straight off the still, Creole lunch cooked over wood. Three tastings we would build a slow afternoon around.
When the light goes
The island after dark.
Champagne on a catamaran as the Pitons turn pink, the Friday-night jump-up in Gros Islet, dinner with the bay below you. Three ways to spend the evening once the heat drops.
